Creating a Project Template
This article explains how to save an existing project in its current state as a reusable project template in Buildend.
Steps
- Go to the project that you would like to save as a template.
- Open Project Settings for the project.
- On the Details tab, scroll down to the Save project as a template section.
- Click Save as a template.
- In the Save as a template dialog, enter a Template name.
- Choose which items to include in the template by toggling the available options:
- Project users: Includes users and their roles in the current project so they are automatically created when a new project is created using this template.
- Folders: Saves the folder structure of the project so it is automatically created in new projects using this template.
- Jobs and Cost codes: Saves project jobs and their cost codes into the template.
- Project Forms: Stores the list of forms in the template so they are automatically attached to new projects created from this template.
- Project tasks: Saves project tasks into the template.
- Click Save template to create the project template.
Once saved, the template will be available under the Project template section the next time you create a new project, where you can select this template to apply it.
