This article explains how to save an existing project in its current state as a reusable project template in Buildend.

Steps

  1. Go to the project that you would like to save as a template.
  2. Open Project Settings for the project.
  3. On the Details tab, scroll down to the Save project as a template section.
  4. Click Save as a template.
  5. In the Save as a template dialog, enter a Template name.
  6. Choose which items to include in the template by toggling the available options:
    • Project users: Includes users and their roles in the current project so they are automatically created when a new project is created using this template.
    • Folders: Saves the folder structure of the project so it is automatically created in new projects using this template.
    • Jobs and Cost codes: Saves project jobs and their cost codes into the template.
    • Project Forms: Stores the list of forms in the template so they are automatically attached to new projects created from this template.

Once saved, the template will be available under the Project template section the next time you create a new project, where you can select this template to apply it.
