It serves as a single source of truth for equipment information, ensuring consistent visibility for both office and field teams.

How Equipment Is Used in Buildend
Equipment records are used to:
- Maintain consistent equipment data
- Connect equipment to scheduling assignments
- Track operational assets across projects
- Support planning and resource visibility
Equipment assigned during scheduling is also reflected on the equipment record for visibility.
Equipment Details Explained
Each equipment record contains key details that help identify, organize, and track assets across projects in Buildend.
- Equipment Number
- A numeric way of identifying the item. This
- Equipment Name
- The name used to identify the equipment (e.g. “Chainsaw”)
- Ownership
- Is it owned by your company or is it rented?
- Office
- Office location this is assigned to
- Equipment Category
- The type of equipment (e.g. Excavator, Loader, Generator).
- Make
- The manufacturer of the equipment (e.g. Caterpillar, John Deere).
- Model
- The specific model name and number of the equipment
- Serial Number
- The unique identifier assigned by the manufacturer
- Year
- The year this equipment was manufactured
- Assignments
- Projects the equipment has been scheduled to be used in. This is listed based on the schedule task it is assigned to.
- Exceptions
- Any dates where this equipment will be unavailable to schedule.
These details ensure equipment is consistently identified and easily managed across all projects.
