Accessing the Bid Request
- You will receive an email from Buildend notifying you of the bid invitation.
- The email will include:
- Project Name
- Instructions and Description
- Bid Due Date
- Click on the View Bid Package button in the email.
- If you are already logged in, the bid package will open directly.
- If not, you’ll be prompted to log in first.
Reviewing the Bid Package
Once inside the bid package, you’ll be able to review all the details and documentation provided by the general contractor.
Indicating Your Intent to Bid
At the top right corner, you will see two options:
- Will Bid – Notifies the contractor that you intend to submit a bid.
- Will Not Bid – Notifies the contractor that you are declining to bid; no further action is needed.
If you choose Will Not Bid, the process ends here and the contractor will be informed of your decision.
Navigating the Bid Package Tabs
Once you indicate Will Bid, three main tabs will become available:
1. Overview
- Shows all general information about the bid package.
- Includes documents, drawings, and instructions.
2. Bid Message Board
- Displays messages and announcements from the contractor to all participants.
- Shows when new documents or updates have been posted.
- Bid Messages (Private)
- Allows you to send private messages to the contractor.
- Use this to ask for clarifications or additional details.
Submitting Your Bid
Once the bid form is enabled, complete the following:
- Under the Bid Form tab:
- Enter pricing for each cost line item requested by the contractor.
- Add any inclusions or exclusions in the “Additional Notes” section.
- Upload any supporting documents in the Attachments section.
- You have two submission options:
- Save Bid – Save your progress and return later to edit or complete.
- Save & Submit Bid – Finalize and submit your bid immediately.
After Submission
- If the contractor accepts your bid, you will receive an email notification.
- If the contractor requests more information:
- You’ll receive an email and see a message in the Bid Message Board.
- Return to the bid package to respond and upload any missing or updated details.
