Accessing Budget Manager

The Budget Manager in Buildend gives you a real-time overview of a project’s financial health, combining data from estimates, contracts, change orders, and costs.


Navigating to Budget Manager

  1. Open the project you want to review.
  2. In the project tab, click FinancialsBudget Manager.

Using the Project Budget Report

Within Budget Manager, you’ll see the Project Budget Report. This report can be customized to fit your needs:

  • Custom Views: Save different layouts for easy access.
  • Grouping Options: Group by job, cost type, or cost code.
  • Filtering: Narrow down results by date ranges or criteria relevant to your analysis.

The report includes key financial indicators such as:

  • Original budget vs. prime contract amounts
  • Cost to complete
  • Actual costs recorded to date
  • Forecasting calculations and projections
  • Variances and potential budget risks

Buildend’s Construction Budget Breakdown

The Budget Breakdown in Buildend automatically integrates live data from multiple sources in the project, including:

  • Contracts (prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders)
  • Potential Change Requests
  • Approved Change Orders
  • Direct Costs
  • Invoices

This creates a real-time view of how your project is performing financially. As contracts are issued, changes approved, or costs recorded, the values in Budget Manager update automatically.

By consolidating all this information, Budget Manager allows you to:

  • Track current performance vs. budget
  • Identify potential risks early (cost overruns, missed revenue, underbilling)
  • Ensure all project stakeholders have access to the most accurate and up-to-date financial picture
