This article explains how to add multiple cost codes into Buildend at once by importing them from a CSV file.
Steps
Navigate to Cost Codes and select Import Data.
Click Download CSV Template to download the template file.
Open the CSV template and note that it contains four columns:
Cost Code
Cost Name
Description (optional)
Parent Cost Code
Fill in the required data in the CSV file.
For a main cost code (for example, 01 – General Requirements):
Set Cost Code to
01Set Cost Name to
General RequirementsOptionally add a Description
Leave Parent Cost Code empty
For a sub cost code (for example, 011000 – Summary):
Set Cost Code to
011000Set Cost Name to
SummaryOptionally add a Description
Set Parent Cost Code to
01to indicate it is a sub cost code of 01 – General Requirements
Once all cost codes have been added and the CSV file is complete, return to Buildend and click Upload CSV File.
Map the columns if they are not auto-filled, then select Next.
Click Submit to create all cost codes provided in the CSV file.
