Creating a Bid Package

Bid Packages in Buildend help you organize and send out scopes of work to subcontractors for pricing. Follow the steps below to create a bid package:

  • Navigate to the Project where you want to create the bid package.

  • Click on the Preconstruction tab in the project.

  • Select Bids from the submenu.

  • On the right-hand side, click Create Bid Package to create a new bid package.

  • The Package Number will auto-populate based on the previous package number in the project.

    Fill in the required details:

    • Package Name

    • Primary Contact

    • Bid Due Date

    • Site Walkthrough Date (optional)

    • RFI Deadline Date (optional)

    • Anticipated Award Date

    • Description and Instructions

  • Attach any relevant files from your project’s Documents section in the Attachments area.

  • Click Next.

Select Cost Codes

  • Choose one or more Cost Codes that you want subcontractors to submit pricing for.

    For each cost code, specify:

    • Job

    • Cost Code

    • Cost Type

    • (Optional) Description

  • Click Next.

Invite Companies

  • On the Invite Companies page, select the subcontractors you want to invite to this bid package.

    Use the Filter Companies options to refine by:

    • Trade

    • City

    • State or Province

    • Country

      After selecting the companies, choose to:

    • Save Package, or

    • Save and Create Another

Once saved, your bid package will be available for invited companies to respond to through the Buildend platform.
