The Time Cards workflow defines how time entries move from entry to approval in Buildend.
Table of Contents
Overview
Time entries follow a structured workflow from creation to approval.
This ensures consistent time data for reporting, payroll, and project tracking.
Workflow Stages & Time Entry Lifecycle
Time tracking includes three stages and follows a status-based lifecycle from entry to approval.
Stages
My Time Card – Users enter and submit time entries
Manage Time – Approvers review and approve submitted time entries
Reporting & Analysis – Approved time is used for reporting, project analysis, payroll, costing, and other downstream business processes
Lifecycle
Time entries move through a status-based lifecycle as they progress through the workflow.
For status definitions, see Time Entry Statuses.
Company-Specific Workflows
Time tracking workflows may vary between organizations based on configuration and internal processes.
If you're unsure how your company uses Time Cards or if there are other steps your company requires as part of the time tracking process, please contact your Buildend Administrator.
