Creating a Submittal

Submittals can be created individually within a project or generated directly from a specification set.

Submittals can be created individually within a project or generated directly from a specification set. This article explains how to manually create a submittal from the Submittals log.

  1. Navigate to the project where you want to create the submittal.

  2. Go to Logs > Submittals.

  3. Select Create Submittal.

  4. Review the Submittal number, which is automatically populated with the next available number in the project.

  5. Enter the required submittal information:

    • Name

    • Submittal type

    • Description

    • Responsible contractor

    • Priority

    • Submitter due date

  6. If a specification set has been uploaded, select the appropriate Specification Section.

  7. If available, select Add in the Sub-spec section.

  8. Under the Planning Information header, enter any applicable information:

    • Lead time

    • Required date

    • Approval

    • Required approval date

    • Required on job site date

  9. Attach any supporting files, if needed.

  10. Select Submit to create the submittal.

Required Fields

The following fields are required when creating a submittal:

  • Number

  • Name

  • Type

  • Description

  • Submitter due date

After the submittal is created, it is automatically assigned the workflow configured for the Submittal module in the project.
