Setting Up Task Stamps

Task Stamps let you create standardized task categories that can be placed on project drawings to create Tasks linked to specific locations, making it easy to identify, assign, and track work.

Overview

Task Stamps connect project drawings with actionable work.

Instead of creating generic Tasks, you can configure reusable Task Stamps for common types of work such as deficiencies, safety issues, inspections, or field verification. Each Task Stamp represents a standardized category of work that can be placed directly on a drawing.

When a Task Stamp is placed, Buildend creates a Task linked to that marked location. This provides a visual reference for where work is required while allowing the Task to be assigned, tracked, and completed like any other Task in Buildend.

Common Use Cases

Organizations can create Task Stamps that reflect their own processes. Common examples include:

  • Deficiency List / Punch List

  • Safety Issue

  • Quality Control

  • Owner Review

Using standardized Task Stamps creates a consistent visual language, making it easy to scan a drawing and recognize different types of work while maintaining consistency across projects.

Choosing Task Stamp Details

When creating a Task Stamp, you'll configure a few properties that determine how it appears and how project teams use it.

Field

Description

Code

Enter a short code, typically a few letters or numbers.

  • This code appears directly on the Task Stamp when it's placed on a drawing, so keep it concise and easy to recognize.

Name

Enter a descriptive name that represents the category of work, such as Deficiency, Safety Issue, or Inspection Required.

  • This is the name users will see when placing Task Stamps on a drawing.

Description

Optionally enter additional information to describe when or how the Task Stamp should be used.

Color

Choose a color for the stamp that is easy to recognize and consistent with your organization's standards.

For example, many teams associate red with deficiencies. You can also enter a HEX Code (hexadecimal color) to match your organization's exact branding or established visual conventions.
