My Time Card is where you record and manage your own time entries. From this page, you can add hours worked, review existing entries, and submit your time for approval.

Yes, you can edit your own time entries as long as they have not been approved or rejected. After that point it becomes read-only and can no longer be modified.

Yes, you can delete a time entry while it is still editable. Once the associated time card has been approved or rejected, its entries can no longer be modified.
Why can't I edit my time card?

The time card has already been approved or rejected.
The time card is no longer editable based on your organization's process.
You do not have permission to modify the time entry.

What does Open mean?

An Open time card is still being worked on and has not yet completed the approval process. Time entries can generally continue to be added or edited while the time card remains open.

An Approved time card has completed the approval process and is considered finalized. Approved time cards can no longer be edited, and their hours are included in project cost reporting and other downstream reporting processes.
What does Rejected mean?
What does Rejected mean?
A Rejected time card requires corrections before it can be approved. After making the requested changes, you can resubmit it for approval.

A time card may get rejected if information is missing, hours need to be corrected, or additional clarification is required. The approver should provide feedback explaining what needs to be updated before you resubmit it.

Your time card is approved by an approver or approvers assigned to you by an Administrator. Most commonly this is the Project Manager for the project.
The approval process may differ depending on your company's process.
Can multiple people approve a time card?

Yes. Buildend supports multiple approvers for a user's time card when your organization's approval process requires it.
Administrators can assign one or more approvers for each user, and anyone approving time cards must have the appropriate permissions.

Whether you can approve your own time card depends on your permissions and your company's approval process. Some organizations allow self-approval, while others require review from another user.

Manage Time is intended for supervisors, managers, or other designated approvers to review, approve, or reject time submitted by other users.

The Manage Time page is permission-based. If you do not have permission to approve or manage other users' time, the page may not be available to you.

Why can't I find another user's time entry?
There are several reasons why you may not see another user's time entry:
The user has not yet submitted their time.
The time was entered against a different project.
The time was entered for a different date or reporting period.
The user has not been assigned to the project.
You do not have permission to view or manage that user's time entries.
If you've confirmed that the time entry should be visible, contact your Buildend Administrator for assistance.
